About

More than 250,000 Filipina/x/os live in Orange County and the Inland Empire (generally defined as Riverside and San Bernardino Counties). Who is telling our stories? Very few organizations serve the Filipino communities in these widespread regions. There remains a need to build an intergenerational community, increase opportunities to learn Filipino American history, document regional history and current events, and promote the use of historical context in research and practice. We deserve to see ourselves in history.

Our hope is for this chapter to address these needs.

FANHS OC/IE was founded in the summer of 2020 by Erin Manalo-Pedro, Dr. Michael Manalo-Pedro, and Dr. Christine Catipon.

Virtual general meetings are scheduled on the first Thursday of every other month with special events that occur in between. We’d love for you to join us!
